Hammering Progress
This piece took 38 rounds of annealing and hammering to shape and
smooth into its final form. To prevent cracking on areas of extra
stress, further precautions were taken such as additional soldering
and filing of the surface. After all hammering was complete, the
round bottom was formed and soldered on; the round bottom sits on
the wood base through a peg-in-tube system that allows it to stand
with stability.
